Adoptive mother 101

Austin Macauley got in touch to ask for this review.

Sally Lewer Ahern , the author, has written the book from the heart. It is full of love for her adopted son Carlos.

Sally tells the heartwarming story of how she became a mother to Carlos. She has included some hints and tips in her book, such as, having some background information about the adoption ready for when the child starts to ask questions of where he came from and why.

Throughout the book is some lighthearted humour making it an easy read.

The text has compassion for the birth mother.

All 111 pages would be an asset to anyone thinking about adoption. as Sally also mentions how she felt and dealt with strangers mentioning that she and her son have no resemblance to each other, which could be helpful to others in the same situation.

I think this story of love is beautiful so that is why I highly recommend it.

Disclosure: I was sent this book for the purpose of the review but all opinions are my own.

This paperback book is published by Austin Macauley. It retails at £7.99

  1. Good adoptive parents are amazing – mine were I know. It is not an easy path to choose. Funnily enough so many people commented how me and my mum did look like each other and I certainly picked up character traits from both adoptive parents and values too #StayClassyMama and it is Kate on Thin Ice commenting

  2. This sounds like an emotional and informative book and would be so useful for other families involved with adoption. Thanks for linking up with #globalblogging

  3. My best friend is in the process of adoption, it’s not an easy process but worth it. Will have to see if I can get a copy of this. Thanks for sharing with #stayclassymama
