This delightful children’s book tells the 2 different view points of Alfie and Alexa, who live next door to one another, whilst living in lock down.
Alfie is finding it boring and wants the lock down to end; whereas Alexa likes all her family being together and doesn’t want it to finish any time soon.
Any children who are worried about or don’t understand the lock down would benefit from having this book shared with an adult.
The text is cleverly written in rhyme; my favourite for children’s literature.
At the end of the book are some blank pages for children to write about their lock down, something to look back on when this is all over, making the book into a keepsake.
Alfie and Alexa in lockdown is written by Linda Cartwright and beautifully illustrated by E.R.Smith.
£1.50 from each sale is being donated to a local food bank, church charities and the NHS to say thank you for all the help they provided during the lock down.
Cuddly Goldie’s ( Alexa’s dog in the book) are also available to buy from the website.
Disclosure: I was sent this book for the purpose of the review but all opinions are my own.
I absolutely love everything about this book; the illustrations, the text and the bits of humour.
Children everywhere should have access to it.
The book is aimed at children aged 2-7, but I know a much wider age group will benefit from it.
Alfie and Alexa in lockdown is self published and retails for£9.99
