This is the second book written b y Linda Cartwright about lockdown life through the eyes of Alfie and Alexa: This time the story focuses on their mummy’s experience of the lockdown.
From grey hair roots to clapping for the N.H.S. and home schooling: this book covers most things about life in lockdown in a fun way that both children and adults will relate to, plus it gives some light relief to what has been a difficult time for many.
E.R. Smith has illustrated each page beautifully, making it even more appealing.
Disclosure: I was gifted the book for the purpose of the review, but all opions are my own.
I love everything about this book; the rhyming text, the illustrations, the way it makes light of challenging times with humour that made me chuckle as I was reading it. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Mummy in lockdown is aimed at children aged 2-7 years, but as I have already mentioned even adults will benefit from reading it.
The book retails at £9.99

What a lovely book ! I agree with you it made me smile, especially the hands through the letter box bit. Such a clever way ,making lockdown more easy.
Thanks, Pearl, the hands through the letter box, were the Mum getting her nails done by the next door neighbour
Alfie and Alexa: when mummy was in lockdown looks like such a fab book to have on your shelf right now. I especially love the mums grey roots with the zebra image next to it. What a classic moment. That really made me laugh -as that was me! Thank you for sharing this find on #MischiefAndMemories
Ha!, I left my hair to go grey just before the lockdown, Annette, so I wasn’t a zebra! Thanks for stopping by

I think books like this are great. Reading something relatable, and knowing that you are not the only one who is thinking or feeling a certain way can certainly make things seem a bit brighter.
