Autumn activities from ichild

Once again ichild have come up with some wonderful activities for children; this is just a selection of some of the ones for autumn:-

ADD THE AUTUMN LEAVES

is quite a straightforward activity suitable for children who are learning to count, it would also help with learning number recognition (I have written an earlier post on this) the children could then colour the leaves and even attempt to write in the number answers.

AUTUMN SPOT THE DIFFERENCE

It took me a while to find all the differences so children should enjoy the challenge, they can then colour the two pictures and discuss what they think is happening in them.

PAPER PLATE HEDGEHOG

This is my favourite of the activities, the hedgehog should be easy enough to make from materials that many people will have without needing to go out and buy expensive provisions.

Children can use the hedgehog template  to practise their cutting skills.

There is also an option to colour and design their own hedgehog with the supplied printout.

AUTUMN WORD SEARCH

There are 12 words relating to autumn for children to find, the answers are at the bottom of the page (if needed).

Children could then be encouraged to talk about the words and could even draw pictures of some of them, such as an acorn and a pumpkin.

Child minders, other early years settings and parents will find ichild activities an asset for not only keeping children entertained  but also as an educational resource.

All of these activities and many more are available to download , some are free, or even more special activities can be accessed for a small joining fee from www.ichild.co,uk

As always questions/comments and topic suggestions are welcome.

Until next time.

  1. Hi Karen, my favourite activity is the hedgehog one too. Sitting and making one (or a whole family) together can open up a whole conversation about nature and the delining numbers of hedgehogs and why.

Thank you for linking up with #keepingitreal.

    xx

  2. I like the simplicity of the counting activity, and that would be great paired with the hedgehog to mix sensory and some basic numeracy. Thank you for sharing #KidsandKreativity

  3. These are great activities for young children. We did similar activities with the preschoolers where I did my Student teaching years ago. The kids really enjoyed them. #GlobalBlogging
