Bazil the Bean; children’s books review

I came across these great children’s books on Facebook.

The author sent the set of 3 books about Bazil:

Bazil and the rumbling tummy:

Introdues readers to Bazil, A boy who loves baked beans so much he has them for every meal.

We all know what too many baked neans can do to our bodies: Yes Bazil gets a lot of wind!

Bazil and his friends have a different adventure in each of the books.

Bazil in…The cup final!

How does Bazil’s love of baked beans have an impact on the result of a football match that he is playing in?

Bazil at….the zoo!

Bazil goes on a school day trip to the zoo

I particularly like the illustrations in this book because they show a child with a different ethnic background ( which I know is helpful to any children from different cultures )than their peer group and seeing someone like them in children’s literature can really help them to feel accepted.

Disclosure: I was gifted the books for the purpose of the review, but all opinions are my own.

I love everything about these books; the humour, the illustrations and finding out about Bazil’s adventures.

So, I know that children will also love them, as a mother of 3 sons, I have no doubt that all children, especially boys who can’t get enough of toilet humour will adore them!

Therefore I am recommending them to parents and carers everywhere; they would make great Christmas stocking fillers

The Bazil the Bean set of books are written by Andrew M Garside and the wonderful bright vibrant illustrations on every page are by Denise K Ainsworth.

They retail at £7.99 each

They are suitable for children aged 3-7 years
