Captain Daddy Beard and the great sailing ship race; children’s book review

I am writing this review, as a part of the love books tours(LBT).

The book has vibrant, colourful front cover, which invites readers to want to look inside and discover all about Captain Daddy Beard.

Captain Daddy Beard is a fun loving character, who enters an exciting sailing ship race around the beautifully named islands of the Turtle Shell Sea.

Children will love reading about the epic odd mishaps and small disasters that happen along the way.

Summer and Harley both aged 9 years, were eager to start reading the book so they could help with my review. In fact they tried to outdo each other by being the first to finish each page, being first to learn what happened next!

The book retails for £7.99 and is aimed at children aged 5-12 years.

It is written and illustrated by David Povey.

Disclosure: I was gifted the book for the purpose of this review, but all opinions are my own, or of Summer and Harley, who both agreed that they found the book exciting and a great book to read

Therefore I am recommending this book because I feel that children will love it, it could also help to encourage any reluctant readers to enjoy the benefits of books and be the start of a life long love of literatures because of the thrilling contents of the tale!

Throughout the154 pages there are some black and white sketches that help to bring the characters to life; adding to the books appeal.
