With the colder weather approaching meaning that coughs and colds are on the horizon; the timing of this children’s book that teaches them to put their hands over their mouths or use a tissue to catch that cough is perfect.
The front cover is a sunny yellow colour which makes you want to investigate further.
Bonnie Bridgman has written the fun tale of Maisy and her cough which spreads throughout the household.
The illustrations by Louise Forshaw add to the important message that tells children to catch that cough.
I would have made good use of this book when I was working as a registered child minder as the children were always coming with coughs and colds that I was forever catching from them.
Catch that cough is published by Tiny tree children’s books and retails at £6.99
Disclosure: I was sent the book for the purpose of the review but all opinions are my own.
The book is recommended for age 5-7 years, but I feel that younger children could learn from having it read to them, that is why I am suggesting that parents, child minders and other practitioners should get a copy.
AS always questions and comments are welcome.
Until next time.

My son enjoys factual books esoecially when it is about the body so this would be a hit X #anythinggoes
Perfect timing on this!
Thanks Michelle, my thoughts exactly
This will be useful for my little one, she’s only just two so might not fully understand, but it won’t be long.

I’m forever telling my 4 year old ‘cover your mouth when you cough!’. This book might help to finally get the message through! #globalblogging
Hopefully, Alex, good luck
A cute sounding book for little ones #DreamTeam
This is a book I’m going to read to my kids. This makes disease prevention easy to understand. #alittlebitofeverything
I actually just purchased this book upon your recommendation! I’m a parent with a life-limiting condition. A simple cold can put me in hospital so we’re always trying to find new creative ways of encouraging good hand hygiene and other anti-germ spreading habits with our littles to reduce my risk of getting very poorly. Thank you so much for doing a review on this! I’ve had zero luck in the past finding a childrens book to explain how coughs and colds spread as well as this one looks! #StayClassyMama
That’s fantastic to hear that my review is helping you with your health, stay well
The spread of germs is so important for children to understand so this book looks fabulous! In fact, a lot of adults could do with a reminder… Thanks for linking up with #globalblogging
I agree, let’s get an adult version of the book! Thanks for sharing your thoughts
I think it should be made available and read daily in all schools, within the first week of my kid’s going back to school they came home with coughs and colds!

That’s the downsise of children getting together at school along with the dreaded head lice
Awww… this sound like a very useful book even for the under 5 little ones. It’s so important to teach them how to cover their mouths and use tissues and wash their hands. Thank you for the recommendation #kltr
I just found out the author lives locally to me and is involved with events at local libraries and book shops so hoping to go along! Thanks for linking up ith #stayclassymama
That’s interesting, say “hello” from me if you do run into the author
