This is the first of a series of Charlie Whiskers adventure books.
.
Charlie Whiskers is well known in his neighborhood because he’s a friendly cat with some distinguishing features. What I really love about this children’s picture book is that it contains some illustrations of ethnic minorities and also challenges gender stero-types.
The book has some fun elements that children will enjoy; such as when a seagull takes Charlie’s fish.
The tale also teaches children a lesson in helping others and doing the right thing.
Disclosure: I was gifted the book for the purpose of the review, but all opinions are my own.
Charlie Whiskers in”something fishy” is written by Steve Waple and Lauren Scott has drawn the colourful illustrations.
I absolutly love this book and am looking forward to reading further installments to find out what Charlie Whiskeres gets up to next.
The book retails at £6,99 and has an age recommendation of 6-8 years, although I think a wider age range of children would enjoy and benefit from it.
As always questions, comments and topic suggestions are welcome.
Until next time.
