When I was working as a registered child minder, I knew that Ofsted inspectors liked to see evidence that I was making the children aware of different cultures and how they celebrated their traditions.
As the Chinese new year is fast approaching. I wanted to share aome of the crafts that ichild have on offer.
Chinese new year is on Tuesday 1 February and this year it’s the year of the tiger:-
TIGER MASK:
This is a really simple craft, literally print onto thin card, but out the yes and add elastic to the sides: there is also the option of printing a blank mask and colouring your own tiger face.
CHINRSE DRAGON PUPPET:
This is a bit more challenging, so would be better suited for older children as the body needs to be concertinaed.
CHINESE LANTERNS:
This is something similar to what I made as a child; quite simple, but very effective.
TIGER PUPPET
:
Made in a similar way to the dragon puppet.
I love all of these crafts as they don’t need expensive materials to make.

As always questions and comments are welcome.
Unyil next time.
