ichild have a variety of paperwork aimed at early years practitioners:-
Child photo observation form
is ideal for writing an observation and then adding a relevant photo ( don’t be tempted to stage a photo as ofsted will soon notice that)
Child observation report
consists of 2 pages covering all 7 of the early learning goals which are:- personal, social and emotional development, communication and language, physical development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design. Plus a section to write any other comments perhaps the next steps, for moving a child forward (ofsted are always looking for that).
Daily observation log
this is a single A4 sheet suitable for any observation that doesn’t necessarily fit into a particular early learning goal.
ichild also have other paperwork suitable for early years settings which parents may also find useful, including a weekly planner and some children’s journeys, for example, 1st steps, 1st words and 1st tooth.
Know the 4 types of child abuse
is an A4 poster which will remind staff in early years settings of the types of abuse – physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse and neglect.
Visit ichild at www.ichild.co.uk where you will find all of the above plus a wide selection of children’s activities to download and print, many of these are free or you can upgrade to become a gold member (like me) and access even more resources.
As always questions/comments are welcome and please share on social media if you think that others would like to read this.
Until next time.

This is such an interesting post to see what is involved with the role of a childminder X #thesatsesh
There is a lot more than people realise to being a registered child minder, sometimes it feels like you are spending more time on paperwork than playing with the children, it is important not to forfeit the time with the children for paperwork, I used to do the bulk of it on my day off x
Thanks for visiting my blog Suzy!custom written essays

Very insightful post. Our nursery use similar forms that they go through with me quarterly to show me what the children have been up to. I always find it such an eye opener as to how quickly they learn! #Blogstravaganza
