When easyread time teacher asked if I would review a children’s wall clock I agreed instantly as I could tell just by looking at a photo of the product that it was going to be great.
The first thing that struct me when the parcel arrived was the simple instructions on the front of the box meaning that you don’t have to spend an age ploughing through an instruction leaflet, ( there is a further leaflet written in different languages inside the box) but I didn’t use it as the simple instructions are adequate.
The clock which is their best seller is brightly coloured which will appeal to children, with a silent second hand so no annoying ticking sound. The clever colour coding makes telling the time both fun and simple.
Caitlin age 6 told me that she didn’t know how to tell the time when I showed her the clock, but literally within 10 minutes she had mastered it!
All I had to do to teach her was to explain that the the pink half of the clock face was to the hour and the green side was past. I then pointed to the number at the end of the long hand ( which was 5) and asked her which number it was, she told me so I asked whether it was to or past she replied that it was to because it was on the pink side next I pointed to the number at the end of the little hand, she told me it was 10, so the time was 5 to 10.
I changed the time to 20 past 10 and again with a little prompting she confidently told me the time. Caitlin then said she wanted to tell me the time on my living room clock, this has roman numerals so I didn’t expect her to be able to work it out but surprisingly she got it right.first time because the easyread time teacher had explained it in a simple way.
This clock is recommended for ages 5-12 years but I know that much younger children who are bright and can recognise numbers would be able to use it.
The clock retails at £24.95 and would be an asset to early years settings, schools and at home.
I would suggest hanging it at child height so it can be easily seen. As well as wall clocks easyread time teacher also supply watches and alarm clocks.

Just as you said its so easy to read the time. Very clear details I think it is brilliant, the detail on the clock face is fantastic. This would be such a good purchase and I’m sure it will be a big success.
Looks like a really good bit of kit to help kids to learn to tell the time xx #thesatsesh
It’s great that the clock is so visually appealing. So many kids are slow to learn to tell time on an analog clock simply because they don’t need to with all the digital clocks on every screen!
We have two of similar clocks, I got from Sainsbury’s and they helped teach read and understands the time. Now he can do it independently 🙂 X #familyfunlinky
This would be good for my youngest #readysetlink
Fab review, I’m a teacher too and find teaching time really frustrating as it’s so abstract to most children. The fact that most children have iPads/ phones/ alarm clocks with a digital display makes it even trickier so this looks perfect! #bigpinklink
Oh I love this is looks prefect for teaching time and I use a similar laminated clock face with my pupils. I’d love one of these for my classroom! Thank you for linking up to #pointshoot 📷
This looks like such a great clock. I will be looking at this for my little one xx #pointshoot
I could really do with one of these clocks – my little one is four and a half and is trying to learn to tell the time. I think the bright colours would definitely help with the learning process #READYSETLINK
What a great clock. Bright colors and would promote learning. #pointshoot
This looks an excellent way to learn to tell the time – really simple and clear.
My son is doing well in school but this is his Achilles heel, reading and telling the time. His teacher gave him a toy clock to learn with. It really does help. That clock looks amazing and a great help to learn to tell the time with! #pointshoot
That looks a great clock my one both find time very hard maybe time hahah to look at this one #tacticaltuesdays
This looks great; having the ‘to’ and ‘past’ halves in different colours is a great ideas for children who are starting to learn to tell the time. #familyfunlinky
Great tips #FortheloveofBLOG
#thesatsesh it seems a bit pricey, I have a wooden child ‘telling’ clock from Tiger – little dude loves it, I think telling the time is an underestimated skill (that many of my teenagers still can’t do). A lovely review, thanks for sharing.
This looks like such a great clock for helping to promote learning. Thank you for linking up with this week’s #TacticalTuesdays
that looks great
great idea, mine all know how to tell time now, but this would be perfect for younger ones! Thanks for sharing this on #mg
This is an adorable clock and perfect for teaching little ones how to tell the time!
Thank you for sharing this with us at #TriumphantTales. I hope to see you back next week!
This looks like a really great clock for learning. I love that the second hand is silent too, my son used to have a similar one but the ticking noise used to keep him awake so we got rid of it. This one has clearly been designed with everything in mind.
Thank you for joining the #FamilyFunLinky x
Oh I love this! I haven’t seen them before but they would be perfect for my children learning to tell the time! #bigpinklink
What a lovely device – very useful.
Thank you for linking up for #tacticaltuesdays!
This is a brilliant idea especially as I read somewhere that some children couldn’t tell the time on a conventional clock because they are so used to reading a digital clock. Thanks so much for linking up at #fortheloveofBLOG. Claire x
