With the cost of living rising almost daily, parents and carers will be wanting to save money whenever possible.
These are some of my ideas:-
Make window shopping a fun activity; I have spent quite some over the years time just looking in shops rather than buying with my own children, grandchildren and the ones I looked after as a registered child minder; favourite shops have been toy shops, pet shops and more recently charity shops.
I recall telling a boy that I was minding that after we had been to the library more here that I needed to go into a few shops while we were in town and then he could choose whether he wanted to look in a toy or pet shop.
He decided on the pet shop and we spent a while looking at the baby rabbits and guinea pigs: He was disappointed though when he realised that I wasn’t actually going to buy an animal for him!
Spend time outdoors- garden centres are a good option in all weathers as they have plants and flowers that you can spend time admiring, plus most will have a cafe or restaurant where you can kill more time and some even have those cute animals that we all love.
Plan an adventure walk and challenge children to find things by making a scavenger hunt more here
Buddy up with other parents and do a toy swap ( children often get bored of the same old toys, so swopping could help other families too).

Have a great summer everyone!
As always questions and comments are welcome.
Until next time.
