Fun Affordable Easter Holiday Activities for children
As Easter approaches, it’s time to plan some delightful activities to keep the children
entertained and immersed in the holiday spirit. Whether you prefer indoor or outdoor fun.
Here are 6 fun Easter holiday activities that children of all ages will enjoy. The one
thing you will need to purchase is plastic eggs. To be honest these are an investment
and can be used for so many activities, not just for Easter.
Obstacle Course Adventure
Transform your garden or indoor space into an obstacle course filled with Easter-
themed challenges. Design stations for hopping, balancing eggs on spoons and even a
mini egg (or duck) hunt along the way. You can use cushions as stepping stones or chalk
patio stones outside to jump on. Finish with a choccy treat under a bowl as the prize.
This encourages friendly competition and is a great way to celebrate each child’s
accomplishments as you help them navigate through the course.
Water Eggs
Cool off on a warm Easter day with water eggs. Fill a large container with water and
reuse thise colourful plastic eggs. For an added challenge, secure tape across the to top
or sides of the container. Equip the kids with spoons and challenge them to scoop out as
many eggs as they can within a set time. Or the colours of the team they wish to be. It’s
a refreshing twist on the traditional egg hunt that’s perfect for outdoor fun.
Egg-citing Word Scramble
Combine learning and fun with an egg-citing word scramble activity. Write letters on
slips of paper and place them inside plastic eggs. Hide the eggs around the house or
garden, then task the kids with finding them and unscrambling the letters to form
Easter-themed words.
It’s a stimulating and educational activity that will keep young minds engaged. Use
harder words for older children.
DIY Wooden Spoon Decorating
Tap into your child’s creativity with a DIY wooden spoon decorating session. Provide
each child with a wooden spoon and an array of art supplies such as paint, markers, and
stickers. Encourage them to unleash their imagination and decorate their spoons with
Easter-inspired designs.
Once completed, their decorated spoons can be proudly displayed or used during
Easter baking activities.
Nature Walk and Nest Building
Take a leisurely stroll with the kids and collect natural materials such as sticks, twigs,
and leaves along the way. Once you’ve gathered your supplies, challenge the children to
work together to build bird nests using the collected items.
These charming nests can be used as table decorations for your Easter celebrations.
A Scavenger Hunt with Clues
This is such a fun activity to do with the kids! It’s like going on a treasure hunt right in
your own garden or around the house. You start by giving them a clue, and then they
have to solve it to find the next clue, and so on until they reach the final treasure. It’s a
great way to get them thinking and problem-solving while having a blast at the same
time. For instance, you could hide clues that lead them to their favourite toys, snacks, or
even a special treat at the end. It’s guaranteed to keep them entertained and excited the
whole way through! So gather up some clues and get ready for an adventure-filled day
with the kiddos!
