Ideas for a sugar free Easter

Children associate Easter with a lot of chocolate.

But what about anyone who can’t have a large sugar high, if they have diabetes or other dietary needs?

Instead of buying children eggs, buy them something to wear; cute bunny slippers, or an Easter themed onesie ( babies will look super sweet in one of these).

Older children may apricate a stylish rabbit or chick jumper to wear while having Sunday lunch with the family.

Other gifts could be something to treasure; a locket or charm bracelet that they can keep into adulthood.

You can still organise an Easter egg hunt on a cold, crisp morning: Use decorative eggs which children can exchange for small gifts ( this means that they are still getting some exercise without a sugar crash ).

Surprise the family by arranging a day trip to a zoo or petting farm or just a countryside walk together.

Easter is a great time to get crafty, create Easter bonnets or paint eggs.

Until next time.

  1. Great ideas, kids these days consume way too much sugar!! Iā€™d like to invite you to drop by and linkup at some of my parties.

  2. Great ideas! We used to gift “spring/summer” things for our boys– mostly stuff I’d buy anyway but they loved getting new goggles and flip flops and even bathing suits in their Easter basket. More practical but still fun.

  3. I LOVE the idea of having an Easter egg hunt to look for decorated eggs, and then exchanging them for little gifts instead of chocolate. This is brilliant and such a creative way to move away from extra chocolate! Thank you for sharing this with #mischiefandmemories šŸ™‚

  4. we also try to go with more spring/summery type stuff like flip flops, sunglasses, bubble wands. Our eggs are usually filled with nickels and dimes that then get traded in for a few dollars #lilbitofeverything
