I was sent the Carmella apple candy locks doll to review.
The first thing that struck me was how tiny she is, Carmella apple is wearing pink roller boots, she can move from the waist and has flexible arms.
What Carmella apple and the other candy locks dolls lack in size make up for by the amount of hair that they have; mine has yellow and pink LONG hair (I have never seen so much hair on a doll before) the hair smells of candy floss and can be styled with the accompanying pink and yellow hair grips and hair twirler.
Caitlin, age 7, loved the candy locks doll, she had fun plaiting her hair and said that it smelt great.
, .
There are 20 different candy locks dolls to collect , they are recommended for age 5 years plus ( as the hair does come out while styling it could be a choking hazard for younger children)
.
Plaiting and styling the hair helps with a child’s dexterity and will develop fine motor skills
. This will be will be a popular gift this Christmas, I’m sure.
I would like to thank Caitlin ans Susie for their help with this review.
Disclosure: I was gifted the product for the purpose of the review, but all opinions are my own.
The dolls retail for £9.99 and can be purchased from all good toy retailers.
As always questions and comments are welcome.
Until next time.
Karen

My daughter has a couple of these and the hair is so soft and long: incredible! Thanks for linking up with #stayclassymama
I can see why children might like these, and the fine motor skills practise is a good point. Other than that, they’re not my cup of tea, but then again I’m not their target group either, lol x
