I can’t speak highly enough about this amazing children’s picture book.
!
First of all the text is rhyming which is my absolute favorite for children’s literature.
At the beginning of the book there is page for the reader to fill in a loved ones name; making it a treasured memory keepsake of a lost loved one.
The story is all about coping with grief after loosing someone special ( human or animal).
A robin appears on every page who is there to help children who are grieving.
The book comes with a heart shaped trinket with a cute picture of a robin in a sweet little draw string bag.
Every page is filled with colourful illustrations.
The book is written beautifully by Jane Somers and the stunning illustrations are by Jeannie Duncanson.
Disclosure: I was sent the book for the purpose of the review but all opinions are my own
The clearly printed rhyming text makes the book fairly easy for children to enjoy alone, although sharing it with an adult may help children to benefit from the message the book contains better.
Look for the robin retails at £11.99 for a hardback version and £9.99 for a paperback.
It is recommended at children aged 3 to 11 years of age, personally I feel that adults could get comfort from reading it too, therefore I am highly recommending it to everyone, even if you haven’t lost someone special look for the robin is a wonderful read!
