In my opinion, Christmas is best when you have children who believe in the magic of Santa: I want to share some of my precious memories of these times:
My youngest son called Santa father Cripman and when we took him to see the big man, Adam was at the stage of making up his own jokes, that were so not funny- that made them really funny ( parents will understand this!)
More on children’s jokes here
The father Christmas that year was the most miserable one that I have come across.
When we entered the grotto. my son said, ” Hello, father Cripman, hairy bath” when he got no reply he demanded, ” Well laugh then!”
My husband and I were stood in the corner literally giggling like a pair of 3 year olds.
When I was working as a registered child minder the children in my care were playing in the playroom while I went into the kitchen to put the kettle on, As I walked back towards the room I heard whispering so I poked my head around the door to see several children lying on the floor pretending to be asleep then an older child who was wearing a Santa outfit from the dressing up box placed a toy wrapped in doll’s cot sheets at the foot of each child,
Suddenly one ‘ sleeping’ child opened her eyes and jumped up telling the others ” Wake up Santa has been!”
Another year my middle son was working as Santa and so had a costume.
I invited another child minder and her children over to mine.
My son told us that he was going out for a while, A few minutes later and there was a knock on the playroom door, in walked father Christmas with some sweets for everyone.
Later that afternoon when my son returned home, one of the children told him “Santa came while you were out and you missed him!”
She shared her sweets with my son to make him feel better about missing our V.,I, P visitor.
Please share any memories that you have.
As always questions and comments are welcome.
UnTIL next time.

This made me smile. This is our first year without a child that still believes and it’s a bit melancholy. We’ll always have our memories though #KCACOLS

Sweet memories 🙂 When I was a child, my grandad used to be our Santa. He’d always say he was nipping out to get a newspaper, and always mysteriously missed the Big Guy’s visit, ha ha! (Or should that be Ho Ho). Thank you for linking up at #KCACOLS! x
