Mia loves her neighbour and his cat so when he goes away and asks her to look after his cat with her mum she jumps at the chance.
Mia also turns his garden wild and by sowing wild flower seeds attracts all kinds of butterflies, bees and birds..
Mia makes a meadow is written by Rachel Lawston and is beautifully illustrated by Beatriz Castro’.
The thing that I like most about this book is that there are loads birds, butterflies and wild flowers to find and talk about on every page: Something that early years practitioners and teachers will find priceless in encouraging children’s vocabulary and understanding of the importance of nature to all our lives.
Even more valuable is that at the back of the book are all the things to look out for; making it even more educational
Disclousure: I was gifted the book for the purpose of the review but all opinions are my own.
The book retails at £8.99
The author told me that she thinks it is suitable for ages 2-7 years, but I am sure that it will appeal to a much wider age range ( I love it and I am much older than 7!)
