In preparation for National nursery rhyme day on 13 November, I am sharing some of my favourites:
This little piggy was a firm favourite when I was working with children of different ages, I would recite the rhyme while tickling a baby’s toes or fingers and any other older children would join in.

One, two, three, four, five is great as it obviously encourages simple counting skills.
Bar, bar, black sheep because most children like animals .
And Old McDonald had a farm is even better as children can be inventive in choosing animals and their sounds.
