i was sent the following books to review:

THE RIVER, THE STARS AND THE FOREST AT NIGHT:

A cute, baby bunny is reluctant to venture out into the forest at night because she is afraid of the dark.

With a mother’s love and encouragement she eventually enjoys their night time adventure.

The book which has lovely illustration covering every page.is recommended for children aged 4 to 5 years.

Early readers should be able to read the clearly printed text for themselves and as the tale isn’t too long, they will get the satisfaction of finishing the book.

The river, the stars and the forest at night could be used as a tool for helping children to overcome a fear of thje. dark. It would make a fantastic bedtime story, but would equally be enjoyed at any time of day.

Jeannine Corcoran has written and illustrated this book.

It retails at £5.99

THE BEAR AND THE BIRD:

This is a tale of friendship and helping one another.

The author wrote the book to raise awareness of the issues that the world is facing: War, climate change and food shortages.

Throughout the book are some wonderful illustrations by Stacey Rose Hobbs, who has also written the story.

At the back of the book the author has drawn some character designs; many of which are pencil sketches which inspiring young artists could try to copy.

This book retails at £8.99

Again the book is recommended for children aged 4 to 5 years 9 but I feel that because the text is smaller and lengthy children would enjoy listening to the bstory and learning from the educational parts of the tale.

THE BURDS:

This book has vibrant colourful illustrationson every page.

It is based on a true event that happened to the author during his travels and explains that everyone is an individual and has a place in the world.

Tim Hooloway has written and illustrated the boook.

It retails at £7.99 and is aimed ay young readers aged 4 to 5 years of age.

WIDGET AND THE ZOOMIES:

This is my favourite of the books becausethe wacky illustrations made me smile!

Widget reminds me of a boy that I used to look after when I was a registered child minder.

The child was excitable and did everything at 100 miles a hour!

Once Widget gets over his initial excitment and slows down he enjoys the visit to the zoo with his aunt.

He even learns quite a lot about the animals they see.

Susan Peltier has written the book and Catherine Grantham has taken the time to draw the outstanding illustrations.

As with the other books it is aimed at children who are just starting school and the clearly printed text is perfect for young readers. The educational elements of the book will also benefit children of all ages.

All of the books would make great addiditions to book shelves everywhere/

Buy them here

As always questions and comments are welcome.

Until next time.
