When I heard that babyled spreads were looking for a blogger to review their products and it was agreed that I should do it .I contacted a friend, whose daughter I used to child mind, for help.
Sarah is following baby led weaning with her son, Cove, who is 9 months old.
Baby led weaning can be started when a baby is old enough to sit unadided and hold up their own head ( usually around 6 months). The idea is that instead of spoon feeding your baby foods of your choice, the baby is given the choice of what ( or what not) he decides to put into his mouth, by grabbing the food so learning about taste and texture.
Babyled spreads are perfect for this and have been manufactured by Keith, a dad to a little girl.
Sarah put some of the avacardo, red pepper and tomato spread onto a spoon and offered it to Cove, he confidentiality took hold of the spoon and put it in his mouth, “He loves it,” Sarah told me.
Keith suggests that the spreads which are made from all natural ingredients, with no artificial colour or additives can be served warm or cold. They can be spooned onto the baby’s highchair tray or a plate, the baby can be offered a piece of bread or a plain biscuit to dip into the spread or put the spread on the bread for baby to eat if he pleases. Otherwise the spreads can be served mixed with vegetables or with a jacket potato.
A few days later, Sarah introduced Cove to the spicy pumpkin spread, by mixing it with some cooked pasta, he enjoyed it so much that she used the remaining spread on bread and crackers over the following days.
Sarah reported that Cove liked both of the samples sent, but the spicy pumpkin was definitely his favourite.
Babyled spreads are value for money as there is little waste.
Disclosure: I was sent samples of the spreads for the purpose of the review, but all opinions are mine, Sarah’s and Cove’s.
I would like to thank Sarah Wilmott, for her help and Cove for being so photogenic.

They sound like a great way to wean a baby! #mixitup
It sounds like a great way to wean a baby! #mixitup
It does indeed look like the spreads are a hit. Babies certainly let you know if they don’t like something. #keepingitreal
I’m not doing baby led weaning, but these would still be good as finger foods alongside purees. #twinklytuesday
#thesatsesh ooooh tell me more? I thought the purpose was for babies (when being led by baby) to explore big chunks of ‘real’ food (by that i mean not mush), so are the pots mushed up or whole? it sounds like a great idea if you want a healthy meal and you aren’t at home. How much are the pots?
The pots come in the form of a spread, hence the name, ba yled spreads, so yes they can be served as a mush by mixing with mussyfood, or offered on a chunk of bread, I have listed the cost at the end of the post, I think it we £9 for a set, but admittedly I can’t remember Off the top of my head, perhaps you could check x
Im a massive fan of baby led weaning. I wish these were around when my boys were younger
We’re thinking of starting the twins on food soon – will keep these in mind! Thank you for sharing this with us at #TriumphantTales. I hope to see you back next week!

These look really good. Our adopted daughter will be nearly six months when she comes home in a few weeks so we’ll be straight into weaning so will give them a try #BloggerClubUK
