Review of Scotch children’s books

As soon as I came across Scotchbooks on Facebook I knew that they would be a good fit to my blog theme.

I was sent 3 books:-

SCOTCH THE SCARE-GO;

Scotch appears to be an average run-of-the-mill scarecrow at first glance .But he is so much more than that when he becomes a scare- go ( a scarecrow that makes scares go away).

He helps a little girl who has locked herself out of her house at night to get back inside, she was scared that her parents would be annoyed with her for waking them up, until Scare-go gives her a tiny piece of his kilt to make the scare go away.

SCOTCH ON THE ROCKS;

Scotch helps some children who are afraid of being in hospital and a group of friends who are stranded on the beach, again by giving them a piece of his kilt.

HOP SCOTCH;

Scotch helps several children who are afraid of the dentist, doctor and learning to swim. Before helping another who is afraid of starting school.

Disclosure: I was sent the books for the purpose of the reviwe, but all options are my own.

The thing that makes these books stand out from other children’s books is that at the back of each book there is a piece of tartan cloth in a plastic pocket that can be given to any children who are afraid of something; giving them the courage to face up to their fears because the fabric is from the Scare-go!

I absolutely love all of the above books and know that they will be invaluable to parents, grandparents and carers who have children that are scared of something.

I would have found them an asset when my youngest son was afraid of the dark and creey crawlies.

The books are written by Neil Dickinson and the vibrant illustrations which appear on every page are drawn by Dave Clark.

they are aimed at children aged 2-7 years and retail at £8.99 each or a bundle of all 3 books for £22.47

As always questions and comments are welcome.

Until next time.
