Shake & learn; alphabet set review

The first thing that struck me when I received this toy was the amount of early learning opportunities it provides: Being a former early years practitioner( registered child minder) I am aware of how a young child’s brain is like a sponge and will take in more information that most people are aware of.

.

The cards include animals, vehicles, objects and musical instruments; each collection is in a different colour.

Once the rattle is switched on with the included batteries an adult can select a learning mode: quiz or music mode.

– then insert a card into the slot and give the rattle to the child to shake, the rattle then plays music, sounds and shows a related illustration. The back of the toy has flashing lights in a star shape.

Selecting the music mode gives 7 different pieces of music; including children’s favourites, such as Old Mc Donald had a farm, Twinkle, twinkle little star and If you’re happy and you know it.

The quiz mode asks the child questions. Such as to find a certain card if the correct card is inserted a green light will show or a red light for a wrong decision, Shaking the rattle repeats the question.

Disclosure: I was gifted this product for the purpose of the review, but all opions are my own.

I absolutly love everything about this toy that’s why I am highly recommending it to parents and carers.

Shake &learn alphabet set retails for £32.98 and is aimed at children over the age of 1 year.
