Education.com asked if I would write another post on one of their worksheets.
I agreed because this was just the kind of activity that my youngest son enjoyed doing when he was growing up, he was the youngest of 4 children and liked to think that he was a’big boy’ like his older brothers. When they came in from school with home work to do, he also wanted some. So I would sit with him and we would ‘work’ on them together.
This particular worksheet has bright, colourful spring related images that children should be able to recognise (although when referring to the bug, my children would have called it a ladybird ).
I would encourage a child to match the words to the pictures by pointing to the first letter of the first word and asking what sound it makes and then ask him to look for the image starting with that sound. for example u for umbrella. Next I would ask the child to draw a line matching each word to the picture, which helps develop hand to eye coordination as well as early reading skills.
Children will sharpen their reading skills with this fun word to picture match, the reading fun will continue at education.com for more printable’s and games.
Disclosure: I have not received a payment for this post and all opinions are my own.
As always questions and comments are welcome and please share on social media.
Until next time.

I can imagine this worksheet would be a great hit with children. Fun while learning a great combination. It could be played with more than one child to see which one matched the subjects first.

I love this idea, my son would love this X #pointshoot
Oh I love this! Mine is only 18 months, but I could definitely spin an idea off of this and make flash cards or just be very repetitive with the world and images!
