The Dwellings; children’s books review

Jason kindly sent me the first two books of the dwellings series of children’s books:

IVAN THE IGLOO WARMS A COLD HEART;

The book is written in a rhyming text, which is my absolute favourite for children’s literature, because it makes the stories more interesting and fun for children as they can sometimes predict the next word.

Ivan has a dream of becoming a tourist attraction in the North Pole where he lives; at first things are going well ,..

Until an angry Polar bear shows up and scare the tourists away.

Find out how Ivan manages to turn the situation around and includes the bear in attracting even more tourists.

This heart warming tale is about friendship and helping one another.

The book has lovely illustrations on every page

LILLY THE LIGHTHOUSE SAVED BY THE STORM;

Again this book is written with a rhyming text.

Lily is an old lighthouse who enjoys keeping passing ships safe and away from the dangerous cliffs, until the council decide that Lily is too old and plan to knock her down and replace her with newer lighthouses who tease her.

This delightful story explains what happens to make Lily popular with everyone again and how by working together all 3 lighthouses make a great team!

Disclosure: I was gifted the books for the purpose of the review, but all opinions are my own.

Both books are written and illustrated beautifully by Jason Goodchild.

They are recommended for children aged over 4 years ( although I feel that younger children would also enjoy them).

Each book retails at £8.99

As always questions, comments and topic suggestions are welcome

Until next time
