The next tradition; children’s book review

This book has a striking, glossy front cover that instantly draws the reader into the book.

If you have ever wondered or worried about explaining the truth regarding Santa/Father Christmas to your children; this book is the key to solving the issue.

Over it’s 30 brightly illustrated pages. the author cleverly offers a simple believable explanation ( that children will understand) taking them from the innocent childhood belief in Santa to a Christmas where families can build their ‘new’ Christmas traditions.

The text is rhyming, making the book even more enjoyable!

One of the things that I particularly love about this book is that the many, vibrant illustrations contain families of different ethnic backgrounds( so important in children’s literature, that children can relate to someone who looks similar to them).

The next tradtion is written and beautifully illustrated by Elias Shepherd.

It is recommended for children aged 9-11 years of age, but I know that everyone, of all ages, including some adults will benefit greatly from reading about the moral of this story: That Christmas isn’t only about receiving gifts from the big man named Santa ( and what a great way to open up conversations about the true meaning of Christmas! ).

Disclosure: I was gifted the book for the purpose of this review, but all opinions are my own.

the book retails at £7.88
