My biggest tip for a successful bath time is to get everything ready in the bathroom before you start: Then you won’t have to quickly dash out to grab some pyjamas ( a child can drown extremely quickly in just a few inches of water so MUST NEVER be left alone at all).
Make sure that the bathroom is not too cold and ALWAYS test the water temperature before letting the child get into the bath.
Adding some bubble bath can make a bath more fun for children as can supplying some bath toys.
Be aware that bath toys can become toxic in extreme cases more here
When I was a child I often shared a bath with my younger sister.
One of the bath toys that mum gave us was a plastic soap dish in the shape of a frog; he had a hole on the top of his head and I decided to fill him up with water. My sister put her eye close to the hole to see if it was full and I am ashamed to admit that I couldn’t resist squeezing the frog making the soapy water squirt into my sister’s eye.
When she started crying because her eye was stinging our mum came rushing in and when she discovered what I had done she smacked me on my leg and because I was wet my leg was smarting as much as my sister’s eye. I defiantly learned a lesson that day!
When my own children were small I would sometimes let them take a bath with me which we both enjoyed.
I also often put all of my boys into the bath together as this saved me time and cut down the water bill
.
Make bath time a part of a child’s bedtime routine here as a warm bath should relax a child and hopefully aid sleep.
As always questions and comments are welcome.
Until next time.

My kids always loved bath time – it was the getting them out which was the problem! HA! #Dreamteam
Ah, yes, I’ve heard of this before, Lydia!
Great tips – and making it part of routine is always a winner. Thanks for sharing with #PoCoLo
Thanks, Stephanie
It’s easier said than done of course, but making it a routine is certainly helpful. Even at a young age I think they can learn fairly quickly what is expected of them in certain situations. Thats not to say they do it, but they know. #dreamteam
Totally agree, Jeremy, thanks for stopping by with your thoughts
Great tips on a happy bath time. Mine never wanted to get out. She’s a bit of a water baby. Thank you for joining us for the #DreamTeam xx
Thanks for having me as a part of the linky party, Annette and for all of your feedback
Bath time is so important for starting off bed time in our home. The kids are now old enough to have baths individually and don’t play much any more which makes me a little sad at how grown up they are! Thanks for linking up with #DreamTeam
