Zoe very kindly sent me the following to review:

MY FIRST PHONICS READING LIBRARY

:

This amazing box of 20 different titles which are all written in rhyming text, which is my absolute favourite for children’s literature because it helps them to have a go at predicting the next word, giving the children confidence to have a try at reading for themselves.

Each book has bright, vibrant illustrations that children will love and there are things in each illustration that children can be asked to point out; developing hand-to-eye co-ordination as well as helping to improve communication and language skills, plus create imaginary skills as children cold be asked what they would eat at Bee’s tea party or their favourite performance in the circus ( in the Cow takes a bow book).

At the back of each book there are instructions explaining to parents and carers how children learn to read and the best way to use the books for maximum effect.

I adore this boxed set of books that retail at £24.99 fantastic value in my onion because all the books will be enjoyed time and time again; As well as helping children to start learning to read the books would be a wonderful addition to bedtime routines as a story before snuggling down to sleep.

EASTER MAGIC PAINTING BOOK:

I can remember using magic painting books when I was a child!

The great thing about them is that you don’t need to supply paints, just a container of water which the child dips the included paint brush into and gently sweep it over the beautiful Easter related images which magically come alive with colour; meaning no messy paint splodges on the table and no paint pots and numerous brushes to clean. That has to be a win, win situation!

Again this book has wonderful illustrations that can be discussed as the child is using it, children could also learn to name and recognise different colours as each colour comes to life.

This book would make a great alternative Easter present for any children who can’t eat chocolate.

It is also a great as a relaxation activity for adults as it’s calming and enjoyable too.

Easter magic painting book retails at £6.99( cheaper than many Easter eggs).

POPPY AND SAM’S WIND-UP TRACTOR BOOK:

This is my favourite of all the books that zoe sent.

I am familiar with the Poppy and Sam series of books and am obsessed with them anyway.

But this book almost took my breath away!

Not only is it a awesome book, with a little yellow duck to find on every page, but the unique selling point that this book provides is that it comes with a wind-up red tractor that sits neatly inside the corner of the book, making sure that it doesn’t get lost and mixed up with other toy vehicles.

Inside the book are 30 amazing push out cardboard figures of the main characters in the story .And even double pages of with a tractor track showing the journeys that the tractor takes in each story.

There are 3 different tractor tales within the 13 pages of the book each with the stand up figures and tractor track.

As with the other books the illustrations open up opportunities for a child to increase their communication and language skills.

What’s not to love about this book that retails for £19.99

Disclosure: was sent the books for the purpose of the review but all opinions are my own.

I can’t speak highly enough about all of these books ( and Usborne books, in general): So obviously I am highly recommending them to parents, grandparents and carers everywhere. They would make a fantastic addition to bookshelves’
