Usborne books wre always a great read when I shared books with my own children and the ones I cared for when I was working as a registered child minder.
So when I was offered the opportunity to review some of their books, I was delighted.
I was sent 2 hardback books:
Little lift and look Spiky Dinosaur:
This delightful book will encourage the youngest of children and babies to engage with it ( children are never too young to start to benefit from sharing a book, in my opinion).
The large flaps will excite children when they lift each one to discover what the Spiky Dinosaur is doing on every page.
The book is written by Anna Milbourne and the bright, vibrant illustrations are by Isobel Lundie.
The Spiky Dinosaur retails at £5.99 and is recommended at children over 6 months old.
Poppy and Sam’s bedtime stories:
I remember the Poppy and Sam farmyard tales being a firm favourite with my youngest son when he was small.
The book opens to show a map of Apple Tree farm ( where the Boot family live).
Then there is an introduction to all the characters on the farm, including the resident animals.
The book has 10 short tales, ideal for reading to children as part of their bedtime routine.
They will be equally enjoyed at any time of day.
On every page there is a little yellow duck to find, which children will love to spot.
There are plently of other things on each page for adults to ask children to find, providing opportunies to develop communication skills.
The book is based on the stories by Heather Amery and are adapted by Lesley Sims.
The amazing illustrations are by Stephen Cartwright.
Poppy and Sam’s bedtime stories retails at £12.99 and is aimed at children aged 2 years plus.
Disclosure: I was gifted the books for the purpose of the review, but all opinions are my own.
I can’t speak highly enough of the benefits these books will provide to children and parents and carers.
They are also great value for money because they will be enjoyed time and time again!
As always questions and comments are welcome.
Until next time.

I loved them for my kids when they were little, too. Poppy and Sam (and a dog called Rusty) were definitely favorites! Usborne has such wonderful books. Visiting from the Tell it To Me Tuesday linkup.
