Review of creative steps magazine

November 17, 2018 Karen 23 comments

Creative steps is a fantastic publication full of  fun craft and activity ideas  that encourage children to learn through play.

In the 4 issues that I was sent there are no fewer than 250 ideas!

Each magazine is glossy with a bright, colourful front cover.

Magazines which are typical in this genre  usually only cater for  children in the early years sector: creative steps, however,  have activity ideas for 0-5 years, 5-7 years and 7-11 years, which is great for any child minders who have a wide age range when taking children after school and during the school holidays.

As well as activities, the magazine offers competitions to enter, prises to win and  most of the arts and crafts can be made from  store cupboard items which many practitioners will have to hand, meaning not having to purchase expensive provisions.

Beside each activity  is a note  saying which of the early years  foundation stages it can be linked to.

There are suggestions of books to read  in the reading corner section.

The thing that I like most about creative steps magazine are the templates at the back of each issue, making the crafts super easy, they could be photocopied and used several times, making them cost effective.

If I had known about creative steps magazine  when I was a child minder, I  would have found it invaluable, which is why I highly recommend it to everyone.

Because creative steps  cover a large age range (0-11 years) it will be an asset to child minders, nannies, pre-school groups, nurseries, after school clubs, parents, grandparents and those who school from home.

Disclosure: I was sent a years supply of the magazine for the purpose of this review but all opinions are my own.

Creative steps magazine is available for subscription; by phone 08004582720 or visit www.creativesteps,co.uk

at the present time  4 issues can be purchased for the price of 3 for £22.35 per year including p&p ( usual price £29.80) use promotion code CSFF17

As always questions and comments are welcome.

Until next time

  1. Not heard of it or if I have I have forgotten. Sounds great and we can all try these ideas to get in touch with our creative sides and not be too stuck to age limits. I am determined to be far more creative come the New Year with my family especially as my daughter is already super creative so I could bond with her over activities #AnythingGoes

  2. not seen this one but looks great, so many magazines are not that great but this one looks packed of ideas you can really do #Blogstravaganza

  3. I haven’t seen this magazine before but it looks great! I especially like that it would cater for the interests of all of my children, which can be tricky in one publication. Thank you for sharing with #Blogstravaganza
