Review of the bum drum conundrum

This great children’s book has a fantastic message; that it is okay for children to say no to something that they are uncomfortable with.

The book has a bright, colourful front cover making it appealing straight away.

Malina doesn’t like the idea of her friend’s new activity, which is playing the bum drum game.

.

The story is written in a sensitive way which explains why children should speak up if they are not comfortable about something and also explains to other children why some people may feel differently to how they might feel about certain things.

The bum drum conundrum is written by Melanie Proulx and Ashley Lanni

Amelia Hart has drawn the bright, colourful illustrations which children will love.

I feel that little boys ( who usually love toilet talk) will find the bum drum aspect of the tale amusing.

Early readers could attempt to read the book for themselves with an adult explaining the moral of the story.

Younger children will enjoy looking at the pictures and could relate to the illustrations of the play equipment in the park to any park visits they have had; encouraging language development.

I love the concept of this book and would highly recommend it to parents and carers.

The book is published by Tiny tree children’s books. It retails at £6.99 and is recommended for ages 5-7 years.

Until next time.
