Helen Lacey; children’s books review

March 8, 2023 Karen 26 comments

I reviewed Helen;s first book: Let’s talk to mummy’s tummy quite some time ago here

She has revised the book now to coincide with her other 2 books and has made some of the illustrations more diverse.

Other than that this new addition is as wonderful as the original.

The book retails at £14.99

Let’s talk about your new baby brother or sister:

This book is written to help older siblings bond with the new arrival, hopefully preventing any jealously.

Helen explains in a sensitive way, that young children will understand, why a new baby cries and spends a lot of time sleeping.

She then moves on to a baby’s milestones from 3 months to 2 years, with beautiful illustrations by Carla Moreeno, even suggesting ways in which the older child can can have fun with their new sibling.

At the corner of each right hand page is an image of the unborn baby that when the pages are flipped shows the baby moving!

Let’s talk about your new baby brother or sister retails at £10.99

Let’s talk to mummy’s tummy activity book with stickers:

I didn’t think that Helen’s books could get any better, then I looked at her third one .

Throughout the book there are images for children to colour, places for children to draw their own pictures and lots of stickers to add to the book: Making it a fantastic keepsake that older children can share with their younger sibling as he or she grows.

This book retail s at £16.99

Disclosure: I was sent the books for the purpose of the review, but all opinions are my own.

I am obessed with all of these books and can’t recommend them highly enough.

They would make an amazing baby shower gift to any woman expecting a second ( or more baby) Or a gift to an older child when also giving the new baby a present. Personally, I would give the second book to an older sibling from the new baby, explaining that it’s something that the new arrival wants his/her older brother/sister to share the book with him/her.

All 3 books can be purchased together for £36
