Introducing Babycup

Babycup first cups are suitable from 4 months of age.

I was sent a set of 4 cups in pretty colours, which instantly make them appealing.

The thing that makes Babycup different from other child cups and beakers is that they are sippy- not sucky; making it easy for young children to use ( I remember when I was a child minder some toddler cups were difficult for the children to get drink out, they had to suck really hard to activate the holes in the lid).

Babycups don’t have lids, they are used just like adult cups, which helps develop hand to eye co-ordination.

Because children are not sucking fluids through holes they are not damaging teeth, therfore dentists recommend them, they are also great for children who have health issues, such as tongue tie or cleft and latch difficuties.

The cups are perfectly sized for tiny hands, made of non-slip plastic for easy grip and the rim suits small mouths helping to develop swallowing skills, as well as motor skills.

I would suggest starting with a small amount of liquid and hold the cup for baby at first, introducing them during bath time while the child is sitting would be great as spills are going to happen for a while.

Babycups are suitable for breast or bottle fed babies and are great for weaning off a bottle read my tips here

The cups are dish washer proof and suitable for use in a steriliser.

I think Babycups are great, I must admit though that I wouldn’t have used one when I was working as a busy child minder, I would not have been able to spend the time with individual children, for parents with only one baby they would be an asset; especially good for young children who have older siblings ( my youngest always wanted to be able to do ‘big boy’ things like his brothers).

Disclosure: I was sent the product for the purpose of the review but all opinions are my own.

A set of 4 cups retail at £6.99

As always questions and comments are welcome.

Until next time.

  1. I use these at meal times for those transitioning from bottles and/or sippy cups, they are so good for little hands to cope with easily and when they do (inevitably) get knocked over there isnt that much to spill 👍

  2. I tried all sorts of different cups for my little ones. These look great, small enough for little hands but grown up enough to encourage development. Thanks for linking up with #globalblogging

    1. The ones that I was sent were in yellow, red and orange, they can hold up to 10fluid ounces, but I would recommend only putting in about an ounce until baby gets the hang of using it
