Jacqueline Mead children’s book review

Jacqueline sent me 2 children’s books for review:-

The tales of Mr Mouse and friends:

At the very beginning of the book ( before chapter 1) is an introduction to Mr Mouse written in four paragraphs.

The paragraphs are repetitive and written in rhyming text meaning that children can join in when the book is beginning read to them, or will make it easier and fun if reading for themselves.

Mr Mouse has lots of friends, including Frog and Bee: By the end of the book children will also want to be firm friends too!

This is written in twelve chapters and would make a great addition to a child’s bedtime routine as each chapter is about a different season of the year ( over 3 years).

Mr Mouse is a lovable character who enjoys tending his garden; The book describes his garden beautifully, especially in the spring when the descriptive writing allows the reader to see and almost smell the flowers which are in bloom.

Mr Mouse also enjoys drinking lots of tea and eating cake, which help him to make friends and meet his wife, Hilda.

At the bottom of every page are some cute illustrations of Mr Mouse with his tea and cake.

The tales of Mr Mouse and friends contain some wonderful, bright illustrations drawn by David Smith.

The book retails at £10.99 and is aimed at children aged 3-7 years.

Disclosure: I was gifted the books for the purpose of the review, but all opinions are my own.

Tales of Mr Mouse meet the children:

Again there is an introduction to the family written as in The tales of Mr Mouse and friends in rhyming, repetitive text.

After Mr Mouse married Hilda they had 12 children ( 11 sons and a daughter).

The book allows the reader to discover more about each child , including their favourite colour and what they enjoy doing.

The thing that I like most about this book is that on every illustration by David Smith there are 3 objects for your child to find making the book even more fun.

The tales of Mr Mouse meet the children retails at £10.95 and is aimed at children aged 3-7 years,

I love both of these books and can’t wait to find out what Mr Mouse and his friends and family get upto next,

Both books can be purchased here

As always questions and comments are welcome.

Until next time.
