Kelly at the seaside;children’s book review

This sweet little children’s book is about a visit to the seaside: But Kelly is a cat, not a child!

Kelly is accompanied by her dad, who keeps her safe while doing all the usual seaside things: Paddling in the sea, building sand castles and having a picnic.

They both have so much fun that Kelly doesn’t want to leave, until dad tells her that they will visit again with mum.

The book is written and illustrated by Alison Putman.

The beautiful vibrant illustrations add to the enjoyment that this book brings.

Disclosure: I: I was gifted the book for the purpose of the review, but all opinions are my own.

I love everything about this book and so will children, as it’s not too long it would make a great bedtime story and as the text is printed clearly early readers can attempt to read it for themselves, or to an adult with minimal help.

Younger children can be encouraged to look out for things in the pictures and perhaps talk about a visit to the seaside that they have had, which will help with building communication and imaginative skills.

What’s not to love?

Kelly at the seaside retails at £5.99 and is recommended for children aged5 to 9 years of age, but I know that younger children would enjoy and benefit from sharing this book with an adult.
