Plus-plus Easter chick review

I was sent a tube containing 240 low-in-the dark pieces.

And a box, in which I was expecting to find a board ( for holding the pieces). But the box contained another 250 puzzle pieces in 10 different colours.

And a puzzle mat.

Harley, age 8, who was eager to help with my review was quick to tell me that there was no need for a board because he was going to use the puzzle mat to make his picture.

And that’s exactly what he did!

Harley told me that the easiest way for him was to tip out the puzzle pieces and follow the map.

Plus-Plus Easter chick comprises of interlocking puzzle pieces that are easy to connect together to make 2D, or 3D creations

.

As a former early years practitioner I apricate the play value of children’s toys; such as Plus-Plus easy builds; they open up opportunities to develop fine motor skills, imaginative and communication skills in children, as well as child led play.

Disclosure: I was sent the product for the purpose of the review, but all options are mine and Harley’s.

Once a child has finished their creation the puzzle pieces will hold together allowing it to be held up: Harley held his up against my window to proudly show my husband what he had achieved. Alternatively it could be hung up by simply threading some thin cord through the back of one of the pieces. Or break it up to make even more creative designs.

Harley told me that he wants to try to make the letters of his name with the pieces next time.

Plus-Plus Easter chick is recommended for children aged 5 years upwards ( It isn’t suitable for very young children due to the small pieces being a choking hazard). The pieces are durable and strong enough to be wiped clean with a damp cloth .

I would like to thank Harley ( a neighbour’s chil) for his invaluable help with this review.

As always questions and comments are welcome.

Until next time.

  1. Ooh I’ve seen these and wondered what they looked like when assembled and how sturdy they were. I’ll be buying one now I’ve seen yours. Thanks for sharing with #pocolo
