Review of Finlake holiday resort

December 29, 2018 Karen 18 comments

My son, Leigh and his family went on a pre-Christmas break to Finlake holiday resort.

Finlake is in Newton Abbot  on the edge of Dartmoor situated in 130 acres of stunning Devon shire countryside and not far from the sea.

On arrival Leigh said that  the park looked neat and tidy, with some seasonal decorations in public areas

.

The accommodation was spotless as well as looking comfortable and homely, the children especially liked the swivel chairs in the living area!

The eldest child wanted to have an artery lesson once they had unpacked. This was well organised so she thoroughly enjoyed this new activity.

As this was a before Christmas break  the family were lucky enough to have breakfast with Santa which was enjoyed by everyone, my son was also impressed to discover that Finlake had gone to the trouble of getting a few real reindeer which made it even more magical for the children.

While visiting Finlake a few meals were had in the on site restaurant, Leigh reports that the food was reasonably priced ( some holiday places vastly over price to make a huge profit) and tasted good making good value for money.

The cabin that the family stayed in was roomy enough to accommodate them all  and even came with a hot tub.

The park also offers the use of indoor and outside swimming pools and an adventure playground  for children which looked great and well maintained.

Disclosure: I was given a 25% discount off the brochure price and 2 free go-activities per child in return for this review, but all opinions are mine, or of my son and his family.

We would all recommend a break or longer stay at Finlake holiday resort at any time of year  as the resort is open all year round.

Because Finlake offer activities for families and have baby equipment hire facilities it is the perfect place for a family holiday.

  1. Looks a really nice place to stay especially for families. Years ago we stayed there in our towing caravan we were really impressed as there was even a bath in the shower block as well as the usual shower cubicles. I don’t think they cater for caravans these days as the posh chalets have taken over. Bet Leigh and family had a great time.

  2. That looks and sounds like a dream. To have an indoor pool as well is a nice bonus too. I didn’t think it would be so comfy and fancy from the cozy cottage look of it from the outside. Archery is a nice touch, I loved that as a tween.

  3. oh how I would love some fresh air in the countryside right now, looks lovely! Thank you for sharing it with #AbloggingGoodTime

  4. Looks like a great place for a family getaway and to a lovely part of the country! Thanks for linking up to #KidsandKreativity, hope you come back next time.

  5. This looks and sounds like a really family orientated place with loads of activities and facilities to engage everyone. Being so close to both the sea and Dartmoor would certainly interest us. Thanks for linking up to #adventurecalling. We’re back open tomorrow for more new posts.

  6. Looks like a perfect place for a family holiday. I would love a lodge holiday with a hot tub, I will be checking Finlake out, especially as it’s in such a wonderful location. The activities and food look good and it’s nice they went to the extra effort for Christmas. Thanks for linking up #adventurecalling
