Review of the children’s book of first aid skills

Award publications kindly let me have this book to review:-

The front cover is colourful and informative as to what the book has to offer.

From how to deal with burns, asthma, chest pain so much more.

This book will inspire any child with an interest in first aid or with hopes of joining the medical profession when they are grown up.

At the back of the book there is a fold out poster to fill in details of emergency contacts plus some wipe clean stickers to encourage children to learn from the book.

.

I highly recommend this book because the illustrations and straight forward text are great for children without being too complicated.

My granddaughter, who calls herself ‘nurse Katlyn’ would absolutely love everything about it.

The book is written by Sophie Giles and Helen Stanton has illustrated it beautifully.

Disclosure: I was sent this book for the purpose of the review, but all opinions are my own.

The children’s book of first aid skills is published by Award publications and retails at£5.99.

As always questions and comments are welcome.

Until next time.

  1. Wow what a brilliant book, so many children love to play at being a nurse or doctor when they are young. There are so many outfits and cases of pretend medical instruments on the market so this book will be a brilliant addition to these . I can remember my husband being quite happy laying on a bed while the grandchildren bandaged his head arms etc using magic cream.

    1. The book is aimed at older children , but I get where you are coming from, Pearl, thanks for sharing your thoughts

  2. My girls did a first aid course about a year ago and loved it. This would be an excellent book to have to keep the topics fresh in their minds. Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time.

  3. This would be of great interest to my daughter, she loves role playing any of the emergency services and is practicing her address in case she ever needs to get help. I think it’s so important that children have an awareness of first aid.
