Queenie is a clever, loveable cat , owned by Emily, who happens to live and work in a palace, in London. When queen Victoria ruled the country.

One evening when the pair were out walking they overheard a group of people who were planning to hurt the queen.

The book has lovely vibrant illustrations covering every single page.

Towards the centre of the book are some black and white images for children to colour; either by copying the coloured pages in the book or by getting creative and colouring in their own way.

I love everything about this book; it’s warm, gentle story of love, frienship and bravery, plus the insight of a little history of days gone by that it introduces to children and finally the coloring pages to the rear that encourages creative and fine motor skills development.

The cat who saved a queen is written and illustrated by Kamisrg Kamila.

It retails at £7.75 and is recommended gor children aged4 to 8 years (although I feel that a wider age range could enjoy and benefit from it).
