Tiny tree children’s book review

Tiny tree children’s books sent the following:-

BINX LOST IN FRANCE

This is the second Binx book that I have reviewed, Binx the Jinx was equally as good as this one.

The story is written in rhyming text- my favourite.and is printed clearly enough for early readers to attempt reading for themselves. It is written. by Michelle Hird.

Binx lost in France  cleverly explains to children what they should ( and should not  do) if they get lost.

The thing that I particularly like about the story is when Binx asks a female cat with kittens for help: this is exactly what I used to tell my children to do if they got lost, to find a lady with children.

The book retails at £6.99 and is recommended for children aged 5-7 years,

MY MUM’S A BUG- EYED MONSTER

;

This is written by Andy Rigden  and Jim Landen,

It is a fun book looking at how we are all different, even our mum’s.It could be used as a tool for helping children who don’t think that they fit in with society.

The text is written in rhyme making it even more fun to read.

The book retails at £6.99 and is recommended for ages 5-7 years.

PECULIAR POWERS OF VEGETABLES AND FRUITS:

This hardback book is great for encouraging children to eat a healthy diet. It explains not only which foods are good for us , but also what they do to help our bodies, in a fun rhyming text.

It is written by Sharada Keats and the bright illustrations are by Jiajia Hamner.

Pecular powers of vegetables and fruits retails at £19.99 and is aimed at children aged 7-11 years.

Disclosure: I was sent the books for the purpose of the review but all opinions are my own.

All of the books are recommended for age 5-7 years except the last one which is aimed at slightly older children, however, I feel that a wider age group would enjoy them and early years settings would find them all useful.

As always comments and questions are welcome.

Until next time.

  1. I love these books especially the Binx lost in France and the third one aimed at healthy eating . This can be a nightmare with some children who only want to eat selected food often ice cream, cakes and biscuits . It’s great that they are all in rhyming text which children would prefer .

  2. I’d never heard of Binx before but it looks cute. I love books that are travel related, they are great for preparing kids for trips, so I will be bookmarking this if we ever visit France (but hopefully without getting lost!)

  3. Lovely sounding books, I’ll look into the Binx one as the kid has just had a stranger danger style lesson at school that has scared him silly, so a book about what to do if you get lost and approaching strangers sometimes might be useful. #twinklytuesday

  4. It sounds like the Binx book has some sensible advice for kids. I always told my boys to look for a policeman if they were lost, but these days looking for a mum with kids makes far more sense xx
